Phew! 2020 was a hard slog. Had my own share of 2020’s slew of uncertainties and heartaches. Lost my mother—the joy of my heart; convicted for contempt for holding an opinion and hit rock-bottom a few times. Despite the storms, His reckless love unwavering, I set up my own legal practice dedicated to the rule of law and amplified my voice against social injustice and undemocratic governance. I have received heart-warming credits from diverse folks for my many blog-posts and tweets on many issues bordering on the rule of law, good governance and the development of our country. Their thumbs-up have been a sufficient fuel to my passion as have, ironically, the snides from the few naysayers.
Three years ago, I started and completed the first draft of a book—Keketoma Sandi was perhaps the only person back then apart from my spouse, who saw the unedited manuscript—that was of course before my friend became the Presidential Spokesman 😁. 2021 is the new year of completion of that project. So if you don’t see the blog-posts as often as you used to, just be assured I’m preparing all of it in a fictional cuisine. Of course, while curating the main dish, I’d be serving tasters and raising my voice on everything and anything relating to the rule of law and democratic governance with my 280 characters on twitter @Soe_Marrah 😆 and on this platform too.
Happy Twenty-Twenty-Won. It’s our year of WINNING. It’s the year of citizens’ action. It’s our year to demand more progressive action, accountability and responsible leadership from those whom we have entrusted power with all its concomitant privileges, to orchestrate a better life and a safe and promising nation for us all.
Thank you for being part of my journey. May 2021 be our year of WINNING back on every front.
